Supporting animal rescue

As a long time animal shelter volunteer who has worked with and seen countless dogs being adopted into wonderful homes over the years, I believe in the work of our animal shelters and rescue organizations.

When I started Sirius Republic, I wanted it to be a partner and a friend to animal rescue groups and a year later, we have gained many.

We support nonprofit animal rescue groups in various ways - donation of our products (mostly collars and leashes), and most recenty donation of a portion of our proceeds.

This new program - Rescue Partners - allows us to donate 20% from applicable sales to participating nonprofits. It works like this: once a nonprofit partners with us, we create a unique rescue code for them and anyone who places an order on our website and enters this code helps that rescue group earn 20% from the sale. It's easy, absolutely free, and open to all nonprofit rescue groups.
We also support animal rescue groups by participating in various rescue events to help raise much-needed funds, most recently the Sacramento SPCA's Doggy Dash on June 5, in which they raised almost $200,000, their biggest event ever!
On August 1, we'll be returning to support our friends at the Berkeley East Bay Humane Society in their annual fundraiser Bay to Barkers. This year's event is especially important because of the recent tragic fire that destroyed its facility and the lives of 15 cats.

We also have events lined up supporting the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA, Humane Society Silicon Valley, Northern California Weimaraner Resue, Alameda Animal Shelter, etc. See a list of our upcoming events here.

  1. All of my "babies" have been rescues... they deserve all the love and affection a "BOUGHT" pet gets. I have 4 at home and a granddoggie (her Daddy lives with me and her Mommie lives with my grandmother - the one and only litter she had). I keep her regularly too for her human Mommie...

If I won a collar it would be for her and I'd buy my crew new ones from this fabo site!!! I think she's like a regular 1" Martingale Collar - she a girly girl, so I think the "Hearts Paws & Bones" would be ultra cute!!

  2. Hi femidiamanta,

Thank you VERY much for adopting rescues! You're right - they deserve the same as any other pet.
Good luck in winning the collar, make sure you post your comment on the Dogster contest page because Dogster is hosting this contest and will pick the winner randomly. The contest page is at http://dogblog.dogster.com/2010/07/20/win-a-beautiful-new-hand-sewn-collar/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+DogsterForTheLoveOfDogBlog+%28Dogster+For+The+Love+of+Dog+Blog%29
